A friend of mine just gave me a USB NES controller and asked me to test it out. I reluctantly took time out of my busy schedule to start up my NES emulator and began playing around…uh…testing.
The first thing I noticed was that the arrows were a little stiff, but okay once you gave it some pressure. It’s been a long time since I’ve handled the NES controller and even though this is a remake, it took a second or two for my muscle memory in my hands to remember the good times it had as a kid.
To test it out, I decided to make a video of myself entering the every famous Minus World. I don’t remember exactly how I learned about it, but I remember being so excited when I finally found it. It took me forever to do the trick that allows you to walk through the brick wall.
Check out my demonstration. (Yep, this is me playing :))
I have to mention that when I originally captured the video of me playing, it was 1.8GB, but I found an awesome video converter software that compressed it down to about 5 MB.
Once you finally get to the Minus World, you are now in an ever ending loop of Water World. I remember getting through the level three times once before time ran out. However, it is still very frustrating that you can’t beat it.
On a last note, one of my claims to fame is that I beat every level of Super Mario Bros with my first set of fireballs. I was getting nervous when I got to level seven and eight, but I was stocked when I finally won. It was cool.
